This Iced Blueberry Matcha Latte is a sweet and creamy drink that you can make in under 1 minute for less than five dollars! It's perfect for an afternoon pick me up or beat the summer heat.
The recipe for this drink is simple and delicious. You'll need one serving, so I recommend making a double or triple batch of blueberry compote throughout the week!
Take Aways
- Use high-quality matcha powder: The quality of your matcha powder will directly affect the taste and overall quality of your Latte. Use a high-quality matcha powder that is bright green with a smooth texture and rich, earthy flavor.
- Experiment with sweetness: The sweetness level will depend on personal preference. Some people prefer it less sweet, while others enjoy a sweeter drink.
- Use fresh blueberries: Fresh blueberries are the best choice for making an Iced Blueberry Matcha Latte, as they provide a natural sweetness and a burst of flavor.
Ingredients for blueberry matcha latte:
The delicious flavors of blueberry and Matcha come together to make this yummy beverage. But you can experiment with the varieties that is sure to satisfy your taste buds and fill you up!
1 Macha powder
Matcha green tea powder is the key ingredient in many traditional Japanese drinks like matcha lattes and smoothies. A rule of thumb for determining quality when brewing with it? The brighter your shade, the better!
2 Blueberries
While fresh blueberries are always a treat, frozen berries can be just as delicious. I prefer to use frozen berries because they tend to be plumper and juicier than their fresh counterparts. So if you find yourself with a bag of frozen berries in your freezer, don't hesitate to use them in this recipe. You'll be rewarded with rich, blueberry flavor in every bite.
3 Milk of your choice
This latte is smooth and creamy thanks to the milk, but if you need a dairy-free or vegan alternative, use some non-dairy options like almond milk or oat milk instead.
4 Simple syrup
Another sweetening of your favorite drinks is by using simple syrup. Simple syrup usually contains equal parts of water and sugar, which are heated together until the solids dissolve into a liquid form of tablespoonfuls- or if you don't have any regular tablespoons on hand, fine mesh strainers will do just fine! The resulting mixture can then be used as an ingredient in cocktails like margaritas - making them even more refreshing than ever before!
5 Lemon juice or zest
While this recipe calls for fresh lemon juice and zest, the syrup will still turn out if you don't have juiced citrus ready. However, I recommend using one since they bring down that bright flavor of sweetener in comparison!
Dunkin' is bringing a new matcha latte to its menu, and it sounds so refreshing. This fruit-infused version of your typical green tea will be the perfect pick-me-up for those who need something extra in their caffeine kicks!

What does it taste like?
The iced blueberry matcha latte is one of the most intriguing coffee drinks we've ever tried. It has a tangy sweetness from fresh berries that make your mouth water for more while also being tart and invigorating on taste buds in equal measure thanks to this seasonal favorite's perfect combination o' elements!
It's hard to imagine that someone would come up with the idea of making a blueberry matcha latté based on pure coincidence? Amazingly enough, this idea works perfectly!
Blueberry matcha lattes are a unique and delicious combination of two seemingly disparate flavors. The sweetness of the blueberries perfectly offsets the bitterness of the Matcha, and the resulting beverage is both refreshing and satisfying.
While the ingredients may seem like an odd pairing, they come together to create a delicious and refreshing drink that is perfect for any time of day. A blueberry matcha latte will hit the spot whether you're looking for an afternoon pick-me-up or a post-dinner treat.

How to make iced blueberry matcha latte
With these easy steps, you can shake or stir to create your own blueberry matcha latte, very similar to Dunkin'.
Step 1 Prepare blueberry simple syrup.
Pour the blueberries into a small saucepan and heat them over low heat. Upon heating, blueberries start to burst. You can smash them with a fork or spoon to access their juices.
Blueberries should be juiced by this point, which means that you should add sugar and water and bring the heat up to medium-low. Gently stir the mixture periodically.
Then, put on low heat and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes, or until the sugar dissolves and the mixture reaches a syrupy consistency.
Note: As the sauce cooks, be careful not to let it get too thick. To thin it out, add one tablespoon of water at a time.
Step 2 Strain the syrup after cooling.
Take the saucepan off the heat and allow it to cool for about 15 minutes.
After that, strain the pulp out of the sauce using a fine-mesh sieve. Mix the pulp with oatmeal or your morning smoothie for a fiber-rich blueberry treat.
Or keeping the blueberry pieces and using an immersion blender to blend the blueberries is also possible, which will make the syrup smooth and free of small fruit bits.
Step 3 Prepare the matcha.
Stir hot water into matcha powder in a small bowl. Whisk well (using a matcha whisk or regular whisk) to fully dissolve the powder. Set aside.
Step 4 Take your matcha latte to the next level.
Select your favorite fruits.
I made two of these latte flavors: one strawberry and one blueberry.
For these fruit compote recipes, the fruit can be fresh or frozen.
Any leftover compote should be stored in a refrigerator in an airtight container.
Tip: Fruits can be mixed together - strawberries and blueberries or anything else you like. The strawberry compote is my favorite because the texture is better.
1 Dalgona Style.
Making Matcha Lattes with a twist is matcha Dalgona style. Egg whites are ideal for making fluffy Matcha, but a heavy whipping cream is also an option.
2 Add Boba
Homemade boba is so easy. You can simmer the boba pearls following the package instructions for about 5 minutes. Add some boba if you want to enjoy your matcha latte even further!
3 Matcha
Instead of using a matcha whisk, an alternative would be to pour the hot water and matcha powder into a bottle/container with a lid and shake it vigorously until the powder is blended. As an interim measure, I used to use this hack until I got my matcha chasen.
The ceremonial Matcha is usually a vivid green color and of the highest quality. The most expensive Matcha is ceremonial for beginners, but premium or universal grades work well.
