I usually ended up making my "too good" dishes over and over and in larger quantities each time.

At one point, I thought of merging different foods to come up with my kind of fusion. So far, I've already created a few new favorites such as Korean spaghetti and meaty wontons in marinara sauce.

This time, I needed something easier to make and eat. So, I thought about two of my favorite foods—pizza and fries.

To be honest, if we could just eat whatever we want without thinking of the caloric consequences, I would love to eat pizza, burgers, and fries at least two times a week.

Making pizza fries is easy, but it shouldn't confine you to one set of toppings. You can broaden your taste and creativity with these fry-base and topping concepts.

Unfortunately, we can't. That is why I only make them for occasional barbecues and game season. With this pizza fries, anyone can eat them as a snack every day.

When I first made my pizza fries, only my son and I were home. So, we were the only ones who tasted it. They say that kids are always honest, especially when it comes to food.

My son is picky, so he tends to give me the real deal with all my culinary creations. In his first bite, he didn't give me a complete reaction. He just looked at me and chewed.

After the fifth pizza fry, he smiled and stepped off his chair. He walked towards me and kissed me on my right cheek. He said he wanted more. That told me that his pizza fry experience was pleasant.

There are many versions of pizza fries at grocery stores. My version is one-of-a-kind. It tastes like some restaurant made it and delivered it to our door, but it's not.

So, I made another batch, and this time, my husband arrived with my brother-in-law. By the time they finished the pizza fries, I was already making the final one for the night.

Making pizza fries is easy, but it shouldn't confine you to one set of toppings. You can broaden your taste and creativity with these fry-base and topping concepts.

Variations of toppings

My pizza fries are mainly topped with pepperoni, but you can expand your horizons. Why don't you try onions, green peppers, black olives, and mushrooms?

You can even make it a tropical-themed pizza fries by using pineapple and ham. As long as the flavors make your mouth water, there is no wrong way to make pizza fries.

For the fries, you can make your own from scratch if you have the time. I have done some batches using fresh potatoes, but when I'm swamped with work, I usually rush to the freezer section and get some frozen fries.

Regular shaped fries are standard, but you can also go for waffled, crinkle-cut, tater tots, steak fries, or wedges.

It's so refreshing to know that you can have many choices in making pizza fries. Whatever variation of this recipe you choose, you will always get delicious and addictive pizza fries that everybody will request from your kitchen all the time.

We all know that pizza fries are so easy to make on your own. I will guide you through each step so that you can achieve the same results I get each time I make a batch

What ingredients do you need?

For a quick batch of pizza fries, you just have to get a bag of frozen fries, pepperoni slices, pizza sauce, ground beef, and mozzarella cheese.

These basic ingredients alone can make your pizza fries dangerous already. Now that I've warned you, you cannot blame me if you or anyone who tastes these pizza fries become extremely addicted.

My pizza fries are indulgent, and so are my other cravings. But hey, isn't that why they're called cravings?

Every bite of my pizza fries brings happiness and satisfaction. If you love pizza and fries, then you will surely be ecstatic when you try my recipe.

We all know that pizza fries are so easy to make on your own. I will guide you through each step so that you can achieve the same results I get each time I make a batch.

I will also give you some suggestions in customizing your pizza fries based on your taste.

Never over broil the fries with all the ingredients on the fries. If you broil them, the cheese and other ingredients will heat up immediately.

How to make the perfect pizza fries

For the sake of convenience, use frozen fries that you can get from the nearby grocery store. I chose crinkle-cut fries, but you can choose whatever type of fries you want.

If you have the time, make some home-made fries. When I prepared the frozen fries, I just followed the instructions indicated on the packaging.

When you finish baking the fries, remove them from the oven, and pour some pizza sauce over them. Add a layer of mozzarella cheese over the sauce—lastly, top everything with pepperoni slices.

You can then put the pizza fries back in the oven and bake them until the cheese is golden brown and melted.

I always recommend that pizza fries should always be served fresh and hot during gatherings.

Though you can always serve the fries in a shallow bowl for serving, you should use a baking pan when you bake them. This will ensure that all the fries are cooked evenly.

Make this pizza fries recipe by incorporating all your favorite pizza toppings like onions, jalapenos, red bell peppers, anchovies, or olives. Let your taste buds decide.

You can change the ingredients based on your taste and preferences for every batch you make. This recipe is customizable, and you can make it your own in no time.

Extra Tips

Perfection is your aim in making these pizza fries. I came up with some tips on how to keep your pizza fries tempting and delicious.

Cook your fries just right. Soggy or burnt fries will not deliver the flavors properly. Aim for a light brown color on your fries.

Remember to use pizza sauce and not any brand of marinara.

Never over broil the fries with all the ingredients on the fries. If you broil them, the cheese and other ingredients will heat up immediately.

You can try making Hawaiian pizza fries topped with ham, pineapple, and gooey cheese. Even imagine having Filipino sisig fries, with grilled pork and chili bits on top.

Just remember that you are at risk of finishing the entire platter by yourself if you don't have the will to resist the deliciousness in front of you.

Party Tip

For an upcoming gathering, you should make two or three batches of these pizza fries. All you need to do is increase the number of ingredients. Make sure you can fit all the fries on your baking sheet. For more fries, you may need to adjust the baking time and bake them in batches.

Creativity is the key to making things interesting. Change the ingredients and even the type of fries. Sweet potato fries or even carrot fries are good substitutes for potatoes.

Get these ingredients

  • 1 lb frozen fries (waffle cut)
  • ½ cup pizza sauce (Don’t over do it or your fries will get soggy.)
  • 1½ cup Mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  • 12 slices pepperoni (sliced)
  • 2 teaspoon parsley

Step by step instructions

Prep the frozen fries:

1 Preheat your oven according to the directions on the waffle fries package. Then, cook according the the directions. I recommend over cooking them for a few minutes to keep them crispy. That way you’re not eating soggy fries.

2 Once your fries are ready, place them on a heat-proof baking dish or tin foil lined baking sheet. I recommend a quick layer of non-stick cooking spray as well. This makes clean up a lot easier.

3 Then, spread some pizza sauce on the fries. Don’t over do it or your fries will get soggy.

4 Sprinkle a decent amount of cheese (you can extra if you want more cheesy) and some pepperoni on top. You can totally add other pizza toppings depending on what you like. You can add garlic, onions, sausage, bell peppers, mushrooms, olives, etc.

5 Bake the fries in your oven for about 5-7 minutes, or until cheese is melted at 400 degrees F.

6 Serve and sprinkle some parsley or basil and chili pepper flakes.
